Staking (Depot)

Staking T2 and T3 Goods in the Depot, and how the staker half of fees is distributed.

What can be staked

Tier 2 Products and the Tier 3 Megacity can be staked in the Depot. Components cannot. A staked Good stays yours and can be unstaked and melted at any time.

Distribution

50% of every craft and melt fee is paid to stakers in SPY. The Keeper converts the USDG and the Depot distributes it by stake weight.

Stake weight counts units, not live NAV. A Megacity counts twice. Distribution has no oracle attack surface.

A Product carries 6 units and a Megacity 24. Counting a Megacity at twice a Product's weight follows straight from the units it holds; there is no price feed in the calculation.

Why units, not NAV

Weighting by live NAV would need an oracle, and an oracle is something to manipulate. Weighting by units needs nothing but the recipe, which is fixed for the season. The distribution cannot be gamed by moving a price. See the Risks page for what this does and does not protect against.
